Thanks for downloading this mod. More updates will be coming soon. Feel free to leave feedback and let me know what you would like to see in future versions.
Simple Zombies Reborn is an updated and expanded continuation of the original Simple Zombies mod by sollaholla.
The original mod was already legendary, and many people still remember the videos, the survival gameplay, and the atmosphere it created. This rebuild exists because the old version had several major gameplay limitations, especially in how infected were streamed and spawned around the player. If you were not looking behind you, parts of the world could feel too empty, while infected could still build up unfairly outside your view. That system has been heavily reworked here, along with extensive bug fixes, balance improvements, and new mechanics.

- Added exhaustion penalties, reaching zero stamina can now slow the player or cause stumbles instead of allowing endless sprinting.
- Melee weapons no longer drain stamina when equipped, firearms still affect movement and combat endurance.
- Improved fuel system with better leak handling, puncture rules, and more realistic damaged vehicle behavior.
- Refined military convoy behavior, including passengers, idle arrival states, and overall travel stability.
- Improved repair interaction flow and fixed edge cases during combat and exhaustion states.
- Tightened zombie spawn validation further to reject more bad elevated placements.
- Tightened abandoned vehicle spawn validation to reduce unstable wrecks, overlaps, and traffic pileups.
- Improved localization with clearer UI labels and better menu readability.
- Additional bug fixes and long-session stability improvements across the SHVDN2 branch.
v1.0.5d

- Reworked bodyguard persistence and task restore so StandStill and Guard behave more reliably after loading.
- Fixed multiple persistence and autosave issues affecting player position, infection state, outbreak progression, guards, and saved survival world data.
- Fixed several cases where infection or outbreak state could return incorrectly after death or after restarting the game.
- Rebalanced infection terminal stage flow, countdown behavior, emergency antidote drops, and outbreak reset handling.
- Tightened zombie and abandoned vehicle spawn validation to reduce bad roof, mountain, bridge, and exploding spawns.
- Improved front-of-player streaming so zombies and abandoned vehicles stop popping in and out as aggressively while traveling.
- Increased zombie density more safely with a higher active cap and smaller, more frequent streamed waves for a fuller apocalypse atmosphere.

Hey, quick note — no updates until April 17–18.
There are still many bugs, and I want to fix everything properly instead of pushing small patches.
I prefer releasing a stable version that will actually last, since I don’t have beta/nightly builds.
Thanks to Zona Comics for bug reports and ideas.
If you find bugs, feel free to comment. Thanks for the support!
The mod is great, though I'd really appreciate an option to disable the fuel system for vehicles. Also, I've run into an issue where I can't spawn certain cars—some spawn without any problems, while others disappear immediately after appearing. Strangely, this only happens when both the mod and zombies are enabled; as soon as I turn off the infection, vehicle spawning goes back to normal.
It actually upsets me quite a bit—I can't spawn the vehicles I'd like to spend time in, yet as soon as I disable the infection and return to regular story mode, that same car spawns perfectly fine, even though it was disappearing just a minute before.
There's still a weird bug where zombies spawn in tunnels but immidietly disapear when you are near them, and they glow like light sources there
@likegemplay hmmm its weird
The game might randomly close at any point while I'm playing with this mod, but only when it's active. There are no error messages or anything like that—it just closes unexpectedly.
new to adding mods.. do you need original Simple Zombies as well to run this one?
When is new update going to drop?
@likegemplay i need to check some features and test it
what to do when my game crashes at beginning after loading? Newset gta enhanced version
@asopi129 it's only legacy mod not enchanced
After a long time I used this mod, it was very exciting, but there is one thing I don't like, namely "infection". Why can't this feature be turned off because if there is even a slight touch, it will immediately be infected and sometimes using virox, the infection virus will increase and immediately die in a matter of minutes. I hope some of you find a way to be immune or disable the infection from spreading.
Hello,
I really love your mod. It’s honestly so much better than the original Simple Zombies mod, and it’s very well made. As an active player of your mod, I would like to share a few ideas and suggestions that I personally think could improve the experience even more.
First, I would really appreciate an option to disable the fuel system. I would also like an option to disable bites or infection, even though I actually like the idea itself.
Another thing I think could be improved is the system that removes moving NPC vehicles and airplanes. Several times, I’ve seen cars driving in the distance that disappear when I get closer. I also often see planes in the sky, which can hurt the immersion a little.
In the future, I would also love to see a system that allows players to loot ammunition stores. They are currently closed, and I think it’s a shame that we cannot enter them.
It would also be great to have a system that lets players claim an area, whether large or small, to prevent zombies from spawning inside a base they have built.
I’d also love to see more bandits scattered around the map, or maybe bandits that eventually attack the player’s base after some time.
Another useful feature would be an option to limit the maximum number of zombies that can spawn in the game.
It could also be nice to add an option to reset a survival world back to Day 1, and maybe include more props that players can place through the menu.
Of course, these are only personal ideas and suggestions from my perspective as a player. I completely understand that features like these take a lot of time and cannot be added overnight. I just wanted to share what I personally feel could still be missing from your already amazing mod.
The amount of work it must have taken to recreate the Simple Zombies mod almost identically while also adding your own ideas like fuel, infection, and other features is honestly impressive.
Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback and suggestions. I hope you might consider some of these ideas from me and other players as well.
Have a great evening :)
@likegemplay yes, but in future i also want to make it for enchanced
@Alex_Game_Team thanks for your review, I appreciate it :)
What a beautiful mod, man. You're doing an amazing work just like the sollaholla intended. I'm reliving my memories when I still watched the Typical Gamer playing Zombie Apocalypse mod in GTA 5 as a kid with the og Simple Zombies mod, and now that I am of age I can now experience this childlike joy once more, but this time, it will be me who's playing, and I will inspire the new generation with this mod also (Am planning to do Zombie apocalypse videos, with full credits to all my mods too, of course!) Keep up the good work, Sonydev!
Como tira esse modo de infecção eu queria jogar sem ele atrapalha um pouco a experiência
O modo desenvolvedor quando ativa os itens resources somem do inventário mas amei o mod tentar tirar a opção de infecção para para quem quiser jogar
@Bolacha0822 I think you just un-check the option for Infection Mode through F10
@sacrilege Thanks a lot, mate!
@Bolacha0822 Because having a developer menu with infinite resources kinda ruins the gameplay. I could add an option to increase resources too, but honestly it wouldn’t be very fun or balanced.
