Interesting, installing 7.12 on top of the 7.0 made game crash on loading.
Uninstalled 7.12 - game works
Installed 7.0 - game works, but I dont see any effects applied. So odd.
After multiple restarts, it started to work.
But could be that crash in 7.12 is due to I have version without latest content update.
Can you install update on top of the 7.0, or v7 should be removed first, and 7.12 installed later?
Would it be possible to toggle elements with some button press combo? Like you could run with always auto-hidden elements, even in missions, but certain times radar is a must and would be great to enable it for some time, and not bringing it up each minute or so.
In my opinion mod is real fun, and changes gameplay enough to feel fresh. But there are caveats about this.
1) AI doesn't understand such changes and will repeatedly get stuck, while usually they should figure out what to do in original game. Here they will smash same obstacle endlessly.
Some races feels even better with mod, as opponents are more crazy on their speeds.
2) Supercars are super fast, and certain average cars can be real slow. Like you see 2 similar SUVs, and one is ok, where other can be like an turtle :)
3) AI on intersections, they real often crash into other cars, making chains. Feels like just brake too late.
Would be cool to see if eventually such AI problems can be mitigated to some degree.
After installing few lore friendly mods (Forests of San Andreas / Remastered) and this handling mod, noticed that both game versions 1.67 or even 1.68 crashes on New Game start. Once you remove Drive V, it works again.
Interesting part is that loading save game, or even launching first mission from list also do work with mod installed.
(all mods are installed via OpenIV into "mods" folder)
