Mazda 2015 MX-5 Addon
Using this method gives you a complete new car to your GTA V collection of cars. The car has its own handling.meta file. You are creating the cars very own dlc pack.
Before you start, open OpenIV, click on tools>ASI Manager. Make sure everything is installed (all green). This makes sure that the mods folder is supported.
1. Follow the folder structure in the included mods folder to create the mx5 dlc pack. In your GTA V install directory, you need a mods folder. If you don't have one, simply create it. You should end up with the following tree inside your GTA V folder: \mods\update\x64\dlcpacks\mx5\dlc.rpf
2. Using OpenIV, go to \update\update.rpf\common\data and extract the file dlclist.xml to your desktop. Open it with notepad and add a line under the existing items: dlcpacks:\mx5\
Line it up with the existing entries, then save and close. I've included my own dlclist.xml as a reference so you can see how it should look. Only add the above line, as I have others which you may not have.
3. Make sure OpenIV is in edit mode, then drag and drop the dlclist.xml from your desktop back to where you extracted it.
That's it... start GTA V and use any trainer which can spawn cars by name. Use mx5 as the name to spawn.
Credit to original model import goes to China_Dazu.
Enjoy,
-- SmOkiNjOe.
Notes:
The number plate seems to be hard coded... it seems the only way to edit it is by exporting the plate_d texture from mx5.ytd in OpenIV, then edit it in Photoshop, then import it back into mx5.ytd.

Will there be tuning parts any time soon?
@AlexGam3rPT Thanks for the positive comments mate... handling is always down to personal preference, you either like an arcade feel, or a more realistic feel. I personally go for the realisim, more of a challenge to drive, but feels great when you get a car drifting properly. Also, go ahead and edit the handling.meta, make it handle exactly how you like. I recommend you try this drifting mod:
https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/gta5-dr-ft
Gives you an idea of what the traction curve does without messing with the handling.meta.
Mods does not work if you install by adding! What's the problem? Please help me
So glad you made an add-on version. It doesn't feel right to replace the 9f and I prefer add-on cars now. It would be a better replace for the surano or banshee.
@kappa1990 Explain more clearly... what part "does not work"? What is happening?
Five stars just for the very clear instructions LOL. Car is very well done as well. Bravo sir. Thank you for sharing with us.
@SmOkiNjOe mod invalid all add cars
@Blackout I only created the addon dlc pack... the car was imported to GTA V by the talented China_Dazu. :)
@kappa1990 What version of GTA V are you using? Do other mods work, or just the cars failing?
@SmOkiNjOe 678 gta v . all add cars invalid mod
@SmOkiNjOe Nah, i like the handling how it is. It's not a race car. It's a perfect car for cruising in LS and the deformation, very nice! Thanks to @China_Dazu and to you. ;)
@kappa1990 Try downloading this gameconfig.xml and swap it for yours:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0ry4EDXrbvtbW9vMzZYZDZrdEU
It is in update>update.rpf>common>data
Backup your original gameconfig.xml so you can put it back if you need to.
@SmOkiNjOe dont fix(((
nice car but horrible handling !!!!
@Himura Is more realistic.
@kappa1990 https://ru.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars
me help.
Add license plate pls. Ask help from other modders if you struggle in adding 1. 5/5 if not for that staic EU plate :/
@SmOkiNjOe can you convert the car to GTA IV and also make it RHD one
I am the proud owner of this car in real life, so I was thrilled to find it as an add-on mod for my favourite game. I really don't like the handling though. The MX-5 is a very light car (976 kg) that virtually sticks to the road like glue, but in this game is handles like my previous car, a 1674 kg Volvo, driving on ice. Really spoils the experience quite a bit.
nice mod liked it
