Windy City (GTA 5 Chicago) is a map modification developed by Dekurwinator, FV Design, Jdmimport and Lozano.
Mod was critically acclaimed and featured on several known and less known publication websites dedicated to games and tech.
Windy City 1.12 CHANGELOG:
-3 billboards and railing on Lake Shore Drive. Billboards feature Grand Senora Desert tourism Advertisement, Cluckin' Bell and a vehicle sale commercial
-Cargens (random parked vehicles) and fencing on west part of the map
-Traffic path node (YND) fixes close to The Trump Tower area with 2 intersections trimmed and fixed. Additional traffic with detailed lanes ("HD Traffic") added to loop around the adjacent block
-Michigan tunnel collision fix, no more invisible wall glitches
-Marina Tower now has added and corrected window textures that reflect at day and night using spec shader
-Rearrangement of roadblock barriers and addition of more instances to prevent players to venture into non-playable areas of the map. A "floating" road barrier near the big crane has been corrected and positioned accordingly
-Navmesh (YNV) fixes which prevent NPC's from spawning and falling into their death near Milennium Park, building near The Trump Tower and patched peds that used to spawn within concrete blocks on Lake Shore Drive and within the area where the new parking cargens and railing was added
-Additional interior (unreachable by normal means)

The High Definition area of Downtown Chicago was extracted from the Racing Sim game Race Driver GRID 2, developed by Codemasters. Source map was edited from a mod Race Map Pack by Derkuwinator: https://dekurwinator-mods.bitrix24.site/
It was then further remastered to see use in free roam gameplay styles that Grand Theft Auto is well known for.
Google Maps 3D scanned area is added as complementary to the existing as to certify map is not an island and rather an illusive landlocked zone. GTA 3 (III) was the only 3D GTA to feature such a way of depicting a world to players of the franchise.

Warning to anyone new to OIV installers - this installer, like most OIVs, will overwrite you dlclist.xml and your gameconfig.xml causing you to lose your addon lines and possibly causing instability due to wrong version of gameconfig.
when i teleport near/into the city my game goes below 10 fps and then it crashes. I downloaded the no google maps thing and am testing it right now
yeah it still lags and then crashes.
and yes I did get the heap adjuster and packfile limit thing
I can't remove the map. I got rid of it but it's still there
Is there any .oiv uninstaller? And if not, can someone make it?

I have been messing with this map for a week now and it is a hit and miss. First I want to say that the creates put a whole lot of work into and I did get to explore it for a bit and I am impressed. Here is what I found, This map is huge and has a lot to offer and I would love to see this map work properly. This map does not play nicely with ANY other mods (which is a shame) and is very selfish. I tried a lot of different solutions to try and get it to work well with others but came up empty. I went into the dlc's and re-worked them to try and make it run on it's own but it just will not go. I currently have 6 huge maps mostly from Liberty city remix (I'm on 2628/1.60 and yes, I got them all to work) and I wanted to try and get this going so I have the biggest world possible but it just keeps kicking me in the balls. Loaded alone and it works kinda, but if you try to add anything else it shuts down and that is not from some this rockstar did to the game, it's this mod/map that is responsible. In the end I will say that it was a fantastic effort from the team that created it but you guys still have a lot of work to do and I mean in your coding. Keep up the great work.
any one please make an uninstaller of this mod please my whole mods got ruined after i installed this map mod my game crashes in loading screen , although i have a good pc with 3060 and i5 , modder please help how i can uninstall this mod
Is there a FiveM version of this or at least a tutorial on how to install it in FiveM.

great.... whole game is not starting anymore.......
deleted al my dlc files noticed my jtower wasnt there n my cars wernt lucky i made a backup of game so deleted it n reinstalled make a version that doesnt delete all dlc files
@EncryptedReality There are many buildings and areas that are just lods. Is the map meant to be like that? Also, where is the Additional interior unreachable by normal means you mentioned?
Looks promising, however it's a pain in the ass to install, doesnt even load for me, and looks like even more of a pain in the ass to uninstall so now i just have this invisible city floating at the top right of my map now. Best i can give it is a 2 1/2
this deletes ur dx list and deletes everything from game plz fix make it a add on where u ad it to ur dc list instead of a oiv as it deletes all list entrys in turn deleting every single mod u put in game

I mean its working for me but the city is a little broken. I can see the ocean in between buildings that are not supposed to be cut up. And in certain areas you fall right through
Copy the dlclist to install
1.66 version test, the traffic file will cause a crash when entering the center of the map, I deleted the traffic file and it is normal, but the map is not without cars
I installed it through OIV, before I made a backup of the Mods folder to avoid inconvenience, but the inconvenience was not avoided. In addition to the MOD not working correctly as already reported, it ruined all my other graphic mods that I had, I did the graphic comparison and I don't know what the hell this Windy City did to my game. I don't recommend installing it if your game is stable, even with a backup, it apparently modified all the other files, if only the map worked... But no! Not even that!
