WHAT PLAYING WITH THIS MOD IS LIKE
This mod is viscerally lightweight, fast-playing, and only affects the player's character. It offers an injury system with no UI popups, with various weapon types causing some abstracted progressive injuries. Gait/running speed is affected by injury and disorientation from severe injury is simulated.
Bandaging/self-care is simulated abstractly-- it's assumed you'll be applying compression and improvised bandages on bleeding whenever you get a chance. Call paramedics, like in real life. Unlike real life, you won't have to spend months in physical rehab to get moving again, but you do need an ambulance in cases of major trauma.
COMPATIBILITY
This mod is incredibly compatible with others, working perfectly with anything which does not affect player health (exception: mods which heal the player generally work). See the pinned comment for recommended modsets to support this playstyle.
DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE
This mod's purpose is to give you actually realistic health, coupled with gait and posture changes, and realistic results from injury types.
Armor is limited with an extremely low cap; it's better than nothing.
If you get hurt, you can call paramedics and they will come fix you. Hold still when you do. Be careful not to bump into them when they come, and don't have weapons out-- if you are playing with the modset described in the pastebin in the pinned comment, they will become antagonized if you accidentally bump into them, and if you're running weapons Are scary (a mod in the pastebin pinned comment), then they will run on sight if you're holding a weapon.

I have script hook script hookv.net and this mod is not working
tnx for mod!!! is there any way to paramedics revive player?
@Themoddgamer same
I am your biggest fan! I have a suggestion, do you think it would be possible to add injury notifications (the text) like in the GSW2 mod? it makes the game feel more authentic and realistic. Your mod is the bomb
This mod would be really cool but for some reason i don't take damage from gunshots...
@Potaitko if and when I get going coding again, I would guess something like this would be a simple conversion
@Grateful_for_modders Really glad you enjoy this modest work. Do you mean adding persistent injuries? It may or may not be implemented.
@VileMaverick @bobgoogwin123 I'll look into it
i deleted the mod and i still dont take damage from guns
@Marcel2015 yes it's still the same, force 3rd person driving when injured.
@sob can you please fix it? otherwise great mod.
@Potaitko @Grateful_for_modders I could learn how to tag injury locations through euphoria and then build on that. It would only be truly recommended for the player's injury state only- the true difficulty with the other author's GSW project in terms of implementation seems to be the increasing complexity of larger firefights with a number of differently-tracked persistent injury states for every actor. Winging a dozen people puts a load on the system in that case. Perhaps I can think about it. Right now I'm still working on the novel as well as another endeavor. @vilemaverick @bobgoogwin123 Thanks for your patience. I'll be starting a new run of the game and all my mods starting 6 Aug 2022, and it is exceedingly likely I will port my system to RDR2 in that phase, with elaborations, plus interpretations of my other mods to remove situational awareness about wanted levels and so on from the player's view. @potaitko there's your answer and timeline about RDR 2
@nickezjonnez Knowing the limits of my humble script, I can say with certainty my work did not cause your issue.
@sob do you have any idea what could have caused it?
@nickezjonnez Yes. Your issue was caused by another mod that is not mine. The effects of any of my scripts disappear if the script is removed and GTA is closed and restarted. It's additionally possible that if you messed around with game values in a text editor you could create this error.
@sob hi, can you look into the bug that when you drive in first person and you are severed injured, the script forces you into third person. No chance to switch back into first person.
Does this work with GSW2?
Not sure why but with this mod installed I am immune to bullet damage, had the opposite effect for me it seems :P I have a few other mods in (not very many) so it's possibly some kind of conflict.
Does this mod still work?
as of 2024 this mod no longer works.
