Hit by nostalgic feeling from Max Payne 3 and decided to make this simple cosmetic mod
For those who have played Max Payne 3 may remember its Trail Carry feature
Which is a weapon carrying technique of putting aside a main firearm to the left-hand
Charging through enemy with sidearm while still carrying that rifle or smg
🛠️How it works:
Play and equip either Rifle, SMG or Shotgun, then proceed to empty the whole magazine.
Player will automatically equip a pistol (any, randomly chosen from your inventory)
Your already emptied firearm will then be held by the left hand.
(There is optional mode you can activate in the ini, which will activate the mod weapon swap)
The guns are limited to only rifles, smgs or shotguns
⚠️Requirement:
ScriptHookVDotNet3, use only the nightly version!
GTAV Enhanced is not supported (it may work, it may not, idk)
❓How to Install:
Inside the rar there are 2 things: TrailCarry.dll, TrailCarry.ini
Put all of them into the "/scripts" folder, the usual for script mods, located in gta main folder
🐞Bugs:
I choose to make the mod activation only when the weapon emptied out is because the lack
of proper aiming animation. Simply, the aiming looks weird and i hate it. The animation is the only way
to make the player hands separated and hold the pistol one-handed. If you are a script dev and
know how to use SET_WEAPON_ANIMATION_OVERRIDE properly, please contact me.
⚔️Incompatibility:
Don't use it with Gangster Aim or any script mods that force change the aiming style, it will conflict.
For now Visible Weapons doesn't synchronize with this mod. Weapon on your back/front or your pistol might be duplicated.
Please be patient and wait for Visible Weapons update

@mbahdokek It's open source on my github under the repo Heat. Just a personal script, so I don't plan on dropping it on 5mods
This is great!. Can you make it compatible with Visible Weapon? When you switch weapons, it sadly switches to the weapon you had on your back.

hipfire shooting for two handed weapons would actually make me splurg everywhere please, this mod is beautiful

cool mod I was wondering if it's possible to disable/ delete and not mess up animations. I currently have a bug where franklin can't stop choking his chicken if you catch my drift lol :) I may have uninstalled improperly because I simply deleted the files from open IV. not the end of the world cuz ill just keep the mod installed but Any input on removal would be swell.
update: managed to fix game after verifying game files on steam. (rookie mistake I feel dumb) regardless, excited for the updates! thanks for making these mods.
