join me peds
make pals with up to 7 peds!
they will protect you and follow you anywhere,
on foot, in any vehicle or even with a parachute.
in case of trouble they will attack hostile peds
but also they will shoot any object you shoot at.
if this aint enough you can now call up to 40! additional armed peds for backup.
(god mode doesnt apply for them, and they wont follow you in vehicles once they arrived at your position)
you can set random or player weapon for your pals.
setting random, every ped will get 1 random weapon and stick to it.
setting player weapon, all pals will use the same weapon as the player at any time.
there is also a godmode for the pals (check below in controls section)
and a new experimental cops only mode for LSPDFR.
if you enter a vehicle, your pals will also join you.
when your vehilce is full, the remaining pals will grab a nearby vehicle to follow you.
if there is no vehicle of your current type (like when you grab the only heli around)
the same model will be spawned for your pals.
now you can take any seat in a vehicle and let one of your pals drive or fly to your waypoint.
of course there is still pogo and rave mode.
make the city a big party (or mess) involving all peds around you.
you can start animations for pals and player with a keystroke.
depending on pogo or rave mode is on or off different random animations will be triggered
(dancing or taunting or pogo).

This mod is really great. I have a suggestion.
Could you add an setting to the ini so that the user can set the model of the Backup Ped as desired?

This is a great mod, but I noticed that companions are so static. They only aim, fire and doesn't use any cover or move around. It would also be funny a command to order them to move though a specific spot. For example: aim key + ped number. Or alternatively to assign them a role among sniper (for long distance fight and cover), assault (for mid distance and tactical movement) and melee (for close distance and suicide)
@zilch yo for some reason pressing I does nothing for me. Think ya could add a True/False option in the ini file for auto cleaning pals?

I haven't tried it looks like a great mod, but all these shortcuts are a mess. Why not keep everything tidy with nativeUI? With one organaized menu?
@Itzhak880 i agree, a menu would be nice... but it would take me days, even if i´d use the menu from the menyoo source.
so its not going to happen anytime soon... if ever...
depending on what you do with the mod, you wont need many of the shortcuts and you can even disable the ones you never use. i guess other modders would have made a couple of different mods out of this instead of packing it all in one mod ;p
next update will bring female voice for female player models and aim + button to have specific peds follow you.
think the mod will be pretty complete then...

Came back to report a bug: changing the keybindings in ini file doesn't actually change anything in game. It keeps the original keybindings no matter what
@rexxmt changing keybindings works fine here.
just make sure the asi and the ini file both are in the root folder of your game installation.
@zilch idk, tried again and still nothing. The only scripts i have is the rob fleeca bank and besides JoinMePeds the only asi i have in my game folder is enbfeeder.asi, EnhancedNativeTrainer.asi, HeapAdjuster.asi, LeFixSimpleFuel.asi, OpenIV.asi, PackfileLimitAdjuster.asi, ScriptHookVDotNet.asi, TrainerV.asi. Any ideas?
Also i disabled my mods folder and still the problem persists. But in my tests this is what i've found out: I've changed the key_join1/2 to K and key_release1/2 to L, everything else disabled. However the join and release key are still bind to J and B, but the other keys i set as DISABLED are actually disabled. That confuses me.
I just found what is happening. When you change the keybindings the letters must be in capital. I had set it to k an l, now i've set it to K and L and it is working. Should inform this in description page

@zilch Glad to see this mod take off! You know I'd really like to have an option to pay each ped I recruit some money, as if I pay them to assist me in a stressed police situation. Man I will surely use the mod for this kinda feature!
I don't like this mod. what are the features of scared peds and dancing all peds for? really, that feature makes peds in gta go crazy, plus when i press the "J" the peds animation is very annoying, dancing and giving thumbs up, this is all bullshit
@zilch Its working fine but when I load a save it gets bad, when I recruit someone they will join me but just stay standing without following me, weapon changing still works tho and the backup I call follows me, just that the one recruited with J isnt working right.. Awesome mod!
@TheKerberos ok, thanks for the info. for now just send the peds away (B key) before loading a savegame.
@Seiya lol dude, apart from the join animation, everything else can be disabled if you do not plan to use it, just like I did. The mod is great.
